I can bet it was. That's how prototypes usually are. Creatures like that are great for someone like you. Not only does it provide influence, but it's because of an artist like you that that kind of creature was born from the imagination. Creepy monsters take some real talent to create and you seem pretty second nature at doing it. Stuff like that can get you some pretty awesome jobs!
I saw the original design browsing your gallery a while ago, and I didn't think of it then, but... And this might only be because I'm a total hardcore Mass Effect fan... It reminds me of something I'd see in the game almost. Probably partially because of the name. Partially now because of the glowing blue tube thing on her back.
If you don't understand what I'm talking about, its okay. xD
She is absolutely beautiful. I know that must seem strange, but there is something very compelling about her. Maybe it's her eyes; the pain in them is very clear. I adore her, though. Love the wicked design. It's just so gorgeous.
Originally I had her codename as PAIN instead of Reaper, but her backstory has since changed, and so did her codename. But I liked the feel of PAIN, so I kept it, less as a codename and more as a nickname by the workers who watch over her.
So it's sort of an inside joke sort of thing, namely because in my novel, she's kind of crazy and unpredictable at times. And those claws cause nothing short of pain.
